The thumping victory by the Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky’s Servant of the People party, securing an absolute majority of 253 seats in the 450 member parliament, can be viewed as a tectonic shift in the geopolitical landscape of Eurasia. The next big party in the parliament will be the pro-Russia Platform – For Life, which secured 44 seats. The stunning rout of the pro-western forces symbolised by former President Poroshenko’s Solidarity party (24 seats). |

Moscow’s wriggle room shrinking vis-à-vis Trump |

The pall of gloom and uncertainty descending on the Russian mind over the intentions of the Donald Trump administration would only have deepened on Sunday when Washington brusquely demanded that Moscow “and the separatist forces it backs” in Donbas, Ukraine’s breakaway eastern region, should “immediately observe the ceasefire, withdraw all heavy weapons, and allow full and unfettered access to the OSCE monitors.” |

Perspectives on Russia: June 2015 |

Our group of 20 citizen diplomats was composed of several travelers who had NEVER been to Russia. For them the trip was a new travelogue with Russian faces, discussions, home visits, and businesses appearing every few hours for the entire trip. I think all would say it was a real eye-opening experience. For others who had been there one or more times, they were shocked at the physical changes in Russia and the Russian people since they last traveled there. For several who have traveled to Russia multiple times over the past dozen years, they had kept up with Russias progress, and were fascinated to see into small and large private businesses, think tanks, have frank discussions with many new Russians––even for these watchful observers, Russia is still changing for the better. |

Prepare for serious turbulence in Russia |
12.06.15 20:04 |
f.USSR |
Last year, thanks to its aggression in Ukraine, Russia changed in many important ways. But one crucial transformation has gone largely unnoticed: Long-term thinking has completely disappeared, and the Russian regime no longer talks about the future. Russian leaders’ discourse centers on the standoff with Ukraine and the West (and their “puppets” within Russia) and references to the heroic past (mostly to World War II). The regime is now fully focused on its own survival |

Trapping Russia to Prove a Negative |

The prove-a-negative trap is the Big Lie technique of Nazi propagandist Josef Goebbels: there is no substance to the allegations and there is no obligation to present evidence to verify, thanks to the dutiful and unquestioning nature of Western corporate “journalism”. |

The Next Escalation: FBI Launches Probe Of Russia 2018 World Cup Award |
04.06.15 06:31 |
f.USSR |
With The FBI now reportedly investigating the award of The Soccer World Cup to Qatar and Russia, it appears, as Mises Lew Rockwell exclaimed, "FIFA has got to change its name, it’s going to have to take out the “I” and put in an “A” for American." This sudden act of imperialism by The US, putting itself in charge of world soccer, as Paul Craig Roberts notes, it "is another Washington-British scam against Russia," adding "law is a weapon that Washington uses to achieve its agenda." |
